August 2010: Bet you thought we'd never post again

I guess we've been a little busy.  I'm going to try to get August caught up on this post.  Here goes. . .
We took our annual trip to Silverwood about a week before school started.  Here are the kids waiting in line to get on the Corkscrew.  We had a lot of fun riding the rides all morning until about 2pm and then we hit Boulder Beach for the rest of the day.
BACK TO SCHOOL!  Here's Tommy on his first day at Lincoln Middle School.  There is no way that I am old enough to have a child in middle school.  What?  Oh yeah, he's not a child anymore, he's a TWEEN.  Where do these words come from?  Guess I'm older than I thought.

Joshua is in the 4th grade this year and it's his goal to wear shorts every single day of school, play every sport there is to play, and attend every single WSU Cougar event there is.
Megan is also in the 4th grade this year.  She is trying out soccer this fall, busy writing and drawing comics and busy with her sister in their American Girl doll school.
Cassandra is going into the 2nd grade.  She is going to be on a dance team that will peform at some WSU events all year.  She is soooooooooooo excited!
Megan got to take some horse-riding lessons this summer and in August we got to go out and watch her ride and show us her skills.  She had a great time and did a wonderful job in her horse, "Big."

Blogging slackers!!! At least we're getting caught up now. . .

The three Wright kids headed for California on
vacation with their dad, so Megan, Eric and I headed for the Oregon Coast to have a little vacay and scope things out for the upcoming nuptials.  It was a great time, special thanks to my Aunt Kem who let us crash at her place at Road's End (Lincoln City).

Eric finally got the camera he's been dreaming of, a Canon 5D Mark II.  This is the first photo he took with it, right before we all went our separate ways for vacation. Cassie looks thrilled, huh?

And there's Megan ready for vacation!

We took the scenic route to the Oregon Coast.  Got to see some beautiful places thanks to our personal tour guide seen in this photo with his daughter and the Columbia River Gorge behind them.

We found a beautiful hydrangea bush when we stopped to see the biggest steelhead ever on Hwy 84.  At least Megan knows how to smile nice for a photo.

A nice person offered to take this photo of the 3 of us.

And I am proud of this one I got of Eric and Megan with his big, fancy new camera that is kind of scarey to me.

We were so excited to finally get to Lincoln City.  Megan and I ran right down to the beach and even though the wind was blowing, Megan was in the water up to her waist :)
On the right is the house we're renting in October.

We spent a day in Newport. Down at the wharf and the aquarium and had the best clam chowder ever at Georgie's(thanks Aunt Kem and Wayne).Megan could've watched and listened to these sea lions all day.  We even saw one poop!  That action was a real crowd pleaser. hee hee

Caught in a shark's mouth and Megan all ready to go deep sea diving. . .

Megan had an even better time on the beach once her dad bought her a new kite.
We spent a couple mornings exploring in the tidepools where Megan is standing.  Soooooo fun to see sea life in it's natural habitat.

These last 4 photos were taken by Eric in Pasco. We stayed there a couple of days before we went to the coast and he had fun getting used to the new camera.  The two photos of the planes are from the air show that was above the river for the boat races. The sunset and the flower are two of my very favorites of his.  I know, I say that about a lot of his photos. . .We are very proud of him :)

Trip to Bellingham in July!

Where has the summer gone?  It's AUGUST!!!  I'm a total slacker, enjoying my first summer off of work in 4 years.  (How come I'm working harder than I have in 4 years, if I'm home?)The kids and I have had a lot of fun.  This is going to be a long post. . .SORRY!
Uh, I mean ENJOY!
Josh and Megan getting ready to bat.  Look out!
Megan playing outfield, DUH!  Where's her mitt? Josh at bat. . . hit a few home runs!

Tommy loves his hair:  "mom, the chicks dig it."  But, he promised us he'd buzz it for the summer.  With the help of our neighbor, Coach Travis, Tommy was able to keep his promise.  Here's before/during and after.  Just in time for our annual trip to Uncle Collin's house in Bellingham.
Guess we should be happy we got them to pose for one nice photo!  This was at a picnic area by Grand Coulee Dam on the "scenic route" to Bellingham the second weekend of July.
Tommy took this photo of Eric and I.  He was very proud of it and we like it, so we had to post it.  And then, there's Josh. . .goofing around!  Surprised, aren't you?
We took a trip to Birch Bay to the water park and it was so fun that Aunt Jenn bought a slip-n-slide for the house.  Between this and water guns we kept the kids and a few adults busy! Do you think anyone had any fun?

We took the kids down to Bellingham Bay and they found some treasures. . .

Here are two of Eric's newer photos. The mountainous one was taken on the North Cascade Loop, the long way that we took to B'ham this year.  Very beautiful drive!
This one was taken on the old Pullman/Moscow road.  It's one of our favorite barns on the Palouse.  I think you can see why in this photo. Eric's been updating his website, you should visit if you haven't recently.  www.erichorn.com

April and May went by way too fast. . .so fast we didn't even blog in May :(

Sooooooooooooo, we moved our blog in March to a different website. We didn't tell most of you cause we were trying it out and then we decided it wasn't the right idea to move it and we are now back at blogspot!  So, there are a couple of posts on here that you haven't seen! We are happy to be back and hope you like it.

This is one of the SEL jets that Eric gets to travel on.  Yes, it's true.  He is now traveling to Chicago for work every other week.  It's sure hard on him. . . cushy leather seats, showing up at the airport 20 minutes prior to departure.  It's rough!  We are excited about this new opportunity for him, but it's not so fun having him gone every other week.
Mom was doing yard work on a warm day in May.  Cassie thought it was time to try out her new swimsuit running through the sprinklers at the neighbor's house.  Here we are taking a break from the heat.  As I type these words it's been raining all day and I'd do anything for some sun!
Megan is playing baseball this spring. Her and Josh are on the same team.  When I took this photo, she had just gotten her team baseball cap.

Megan went to her grandma's 80th birthday party.  We got her in a dress and curled her hair.  Doesn't she look pretty?

Here's our Cassie posing for a photo
Here's Josh being the silly GOOSE that he is while chatting with Tommy

Cassie was in her first dance recital at the end of May.  We are so proud of her.  WOW!!! She can really shake her hips. YIKES!!!

We went out to take some photos over Memorial Day weekend.  Eric woke me up at 5:50 am on Sunday morning and told me I had 5 minutes to get in the car.  We were on the top of Steptoe Butte by 7:00 am.  He took this photo on the way there.
This one was taken from the top of Steptoe Butte.  It was a gorgeous day!
